AWS E310-16 Stainless Steel Welding Electrode (SMAW, 25Cr-20Ni Heat Resistant)

 

Ocean Welding E310-16 is a fully austenitic 25Cr-20Ni stainless steel electrode featuring a rutile-calcia type coating and compliant with AWS A5.4 / ASME SFA-5.4 standards. This product is designed for high-temperature operating conditions with extremely high requirements for resistance to oxidation and phase stability. It is suitable for AC or DC reverse polarity (DCEP) power supplies and can be soldered in all positions except for downward vertical soldering. It is the preferred choice for welding heat-resistant stainless steels (such as 310, 310S, and 310H), furnace components, heat shields and piping, HK-40/HP-Nb cast alloys, and dissimilar joints between carbon/low-alloy steels and heat-resistant austenitic steels (for service temperatures up to approximately 1100°C). The product is manufactured by Hangzhou Lin'an Ocean Welding Materials Co., Ltd., a company active in the welding materials industry since 1995 with a portfolio of over 4,000 product specifications and an annual output of 2,000 tons; the company holds comprehensive certifications, including ISO 9001, CE, and SGS.

Ocean Welding E310-16 has a fully austenitic weld metal structure, exhibiting excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization at temperatures up to approximately 1100°C. Best-practice notes

Redry electrodes at 250 – 350 °C for 1 hour before use; keep in an 80 – 150 °C heated quiver during welding to preserve rutile coating stability. 
Use short arc, low travel speed, stringer bead technique; avoid wide weaving to reduce hot-cracking risk in fully austenitic deposits.
Interpass temperature ≤ 150 °C on the stainless side to preserve corrosion resistance; DCEP is preferred for smoother arc and reduced spatter. 
No mandatory preheat for stainless-to-stainless joints; for carbon-side heavy sections use 100 – 150 °C preheat.
