Introduction
a. Stainless Steel Welding Electrode E309-16 weld metal is a stable austenite structure containing 22Cr-12Ni,of which certain ferrite is contained. Its Cr23Ni13 stainless steel electrode with titanium calcium coatingIt contains low carbon element and has good crack resistibility and excellent weldability.
b. Both AC and DC can be applied,it can be used for all position welding with excellent performances:stable arc,small spatters,good appearance of weld.And also the welding electrode shows good heat-resistance character,not easy to turn red.

1. Stainless Steel Welding Electrode E309-16 must be baked at about 150℃ for 1 hour before welding
2. When using AC welding, the penetration is relatively shallow, so use DC power as much as possible; the current should not be too large to avoid redness of the electrode.

A: E309-16 is a welding rod specially designed for stainless steel and dissimilar metals. It is mainly used for: Welding of stainless steel (such as 304, 309) with carbon steel (such as Q235, A36) and low alloy steel; Self welding or repair of stainless steel parent materials (such as 309 stainless steel); Welding of oxidation-resistant parts (such as furnace tubes and heat exchangers) in high temperature environments.
Q: Can E309-16 be used in seawater or chloride ion environments?
A: E309-16 has good resistance to atmospheric corrosion and oxidizing acids (such as nitric acid), but it is not recommended to be used directly in seawater or high chloride ion environments (such as salt spray concentration > 3%). If such scenarios are required, it is recommended to use E316L or duplex stainless steel electrodes with higher molybdenum content.
