Secondary Drying (for Dampened Electrodes)

Definition: Electrodes that have been exposed to air for more than the specified time (＞4 hours when humidity ≤ 60%, ＞2 hours when humidity ＞60%) after being taken out of the holding oven, or electrodes with slightly damp coatings (no obvious white frost but a dry, astringent feel).

Process Parameters:

Heat up to 300-350℃ (lower than the primary drying temperature to prevent coating peeling).

Soaking Time: 1 hour.

Restriction: Secondary drying for the same batch of electrodes shall not exceed once (multiple drying cycles will reduce the coating strength, easily causing slag inclusion during welding).
