Welding process guide

1. Preparation before welding: remove rust, oil and moisture from the workpiece surface, dry the welding rod at 350-400℃ for 1-2 hours, put it in an 80-100℃ insulation cylinder for use
2. Welding parameters (taking 3.2mm welding rod as an example):
Welding current: 90-120A
Arc voltage: 24-28V
Welding speed: 150-200mm/min
3. Precautions: When the wind speed is greater than 8m/s, windproof measures should be taken, and the temperature between layers should not be lower than 150℃ during multi-layer welding

Q: Can this electrode be used for high carbon steel welding?

A: Not recommended. AWS E8015-G is mainly suitable for medium carbon steel and low alloy steel. AWS E11015-G and other higher strength grade electrodes are recommended for high carbon steel welding.

Q: How to deal with the unused electrode after drying?

A: It can be dried again, but the number of repeated drying should not exceed 2 times, and the cumulative drying time should not exceed 4 hours.

Q: How to solve the pores after welding?

A: Check the cleanliness of the workpiece, the drying of the electrode and the protective measures to ensure that the wind speed in the welding area is ≤8m/s.
