AWS ER430 stainless steel welding wire is also called H10Cr17. Its main component is 17Cr. It is a ferritic stainless steel MIG welding wire that can be welded in all positions. It has the advantages of smooth wire feeding, stable arc, beautiful shape, and very little spatter, and performs well in welding operations.

• Preparation before welding

The product should be stored in a ventilated, dry place isolated from acid, alkali and oil media. After removing the packaging of the welding wire, it is recommended to apply an appropriate dust cover on the welding wire.
Oil, dirt and rust on the surface of the welding wire should be removed before welding. The welding area must be thoroughly cleaned of surface impurities such as oil, rust and moisture to prevent pores and cracks during welding. When cleaning, the groove surface and the surrounding area should be polished to a metallic luster.

• Precautions for welding process

In order to obtain good mechanical properties of the weld, it is recommended to use Ar + 2%O2 as the shielding gas for MIG welding, and the shielding gas flow rate is preferably 20-25L/min. It is recommended to use pure argon protection for TIG welding, and the shielding gas flow rate is preferably 8-15L/min. The tungsten electrode extension length is about 3-5mm and the arc length is 1-3mm; the wind speed limit is ≤1.0M/s, and it is recommended to pass argon protection on the back of the welding area.
During the welding process, the amount of welding line energy directly affects the mechanical properties and crack resistance of the weld metal, and should be paid more attention to. The above welding methods, conditions and specifications are for reference only. Users should conduct process evaluation based on their own welding characteristics before using welding wire for formal product welding.

• Automobile industry: widely used in welding of 13Cr or 17Cr martensitic stainless steel, such as welding of automobile mufflers. Automobile mufflers are usually made of 409L material, which is equivalent to the Chinese grade 0Cr11Ti.
