ENiCrMo-10 Tig Rod
Classification: Welding rod
Model:ENiCrMo-10
Classification: Nickel-based alloy welding rod
What is ENiCrMo-10
The nickel-based high-performance alloy material ENiCrMo-10 has a strong adaptability to extreme working conditions due to its special alloy ratio design. Its deposited metal can still maintain a tensile strength of ≥690MPa in a high temperature environment of 800℃, which can stably cope with the material strength attenuation problem caused by high temperature; in highly corrosive media such as chloride ions, sulfuric acid and hydrogen sulfide, the annual corrosion rate can be controlled within 0.005mm, which can effectively resist the erosion of various corrosive substances. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for industrial equipment in extremely high temperature (≤850℃) and corrosive environments such as petrochemical high-temperature reactors, marine engineering deep-sea equipment and nuclear power steam generators.
In terms of welding process adaptability, this material shows excellent compatibility with TIG (tungsten inert gas shielded welding) process. It can ensure stable arc burning. In the DCEN mode, for 3-5mm thick base materials, the welding heat input can be precisely controlled at 8-12kJ/cm to avoid the formation of undesirable intergranular precipitation phases due to overheating. At the same time, the molten pool has excellent fluidity (spreading coefficient ≥1.2), and with 99.995% pure argon protection (flow rate 12-15L/min), it can form high-quality welded joints without pores and cracks. According to third-party testing, the room temperature tensile strength of its welded joints matches the base material by more than 95%, the low-temperature impact energy at -196℃ is ≥100J, and after aging at 650℃×1000h, the toughness retention rate of the joint is still more than 80%, which fully meets the stringent requirements of ASME BPVC Volume IX for high-voltage equipment welded joints.
With these characteristics, this type of material can not only adapt to the TIG process to achieve high-quality connection of dissimilar materials (such as nickel-based alloys and austenitic stainless steel), but also maintain performance uniformity of ≤10% deviation from the parent material in terms of corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, etc. through welded joints, thereby reducing the leakage risk and maintenance cost of high-end equipment under extreme working conditions. Therefore, it is widely recognized as an ideal choice for high-end welding manufacturing fields such as aerospace engine combustion chambers, LNG cryogenic storage tanks, and high-temperature pipelines of supercritical units.

User Experience
In the actual use of ENiCrMo-10, many users reported that the welding process was extremely smooth. The arc stability is excellent, and stable combustion can be guaranteed even in complex welding positions, which greatly reduces the number of welding interruptions and repairs. For example, in a large petrochemical project, welders used ENiCrMo-10 to weld the nickel-based alloy components of a high-temperature reactor. The welding task was originally expected to take a week to complete, but due to the excellent welding performance of the material, it took only four days to complete with high quality, and the welds were strictly tested and free of any defects, saving a lot of time and labor costs for the project. At the same time, the deposited metal is beautifully formed and does not require much subsequent grinding and processing, which further improves production efficiency, reduces overall costs, and brings users an efficient and high-quality welding experience.
how to use
- Preparation before welding: Before welding, the welding area needs to be thoroughly cleaned to ensure that there are no impurities such as oil, rust, and moisture. It is recommended to use a special stainless steel brush or cleaning agent for cleaning. For thicker parent materials (thickness greater than 12mm) or when welding in a cold environment, proper preheating is required, and the preheating temperature is controlled at 100-150°C to reduce welding stress and prevent cracks.
- Welding process parameter selection: DC reverse connection (DCEP) is used, and the current size needs to be reasonably adjusted according to the electrode diameter and welding position. For example, when using a 3.2mm diameter electrode for flat welding, the welding current can be set at 90-120A; when vertical welding and overhead welding, the current is appropriately reduced to 80-100A. The welding speed is kept uniform, generally controlled at 8-12cm/min, to ensure good weld formation and appropriate penetration depth.
- Welding process operation: During welding, keep the electrode at an angle of 70-80° to the surface of the weldment, use short arc welding, and control the arc length to 2-4mm, which can effectively reduce the generation of defects such as pores. For multi-layer and multi-pass welding, after each layer is welded, the welding slag needs to be cleaned up, the weld quality needs to be checked, and the next layer of welding needs to be carried out after confirming that there are no defects. The interlayer temperature is controlled not to exceed 120°C.
- Post-weld treatment: After welding is completed, wait for the weld to cool naturally to room temperature, and use a stainless steel wire brush to clean the residual welding slag. Generally, ENiCrMo-10 does not require special heat treatment after welding, but if the weldment has strict requirements on residual stress, stress relief annealing can be carried out. The annealing temperature is 650-700°C, and the insulation time is determined according to the thickness of the weldment. It is kept warm for 1 hour for every 25mm thickness, and then slowly cooled with the furnace.
