HS221 welding wire adopts Al-Mg-Si alloy formula and is made by continuous drawing-annealing process, which is suitable for MIG/TIG welding process. The surface of welding wire is chromium-free passivation treated to ensure conductivity and wire feeding stability. It complies with AWS A5.10 ER5356 standard and is widely used in high-precision fields such as rail transportation and pressure vessels.

Key points of technology

 

 

Groove design:

  • Thin plate (≤3mm): I-type groove, gap 1-2mm
  • Medium and thick plate (3-12mm): V-type groove, angle 60°±5°

Preheating control: When the wall thickness is greater than 15mm, preheat to 100-150℃ (infrared temperature measurement)
Interlayer temperature: ≤100℃, use water-cooled copper pad to control heat input

 

 

Matters needing attention

 

1. Wire management

  • Storage conditions: temperature 20±5℃, humidity ≤50% (monitored by desiccant and humidity card)
  • After unpacking: use within 24 hours, and seal and refrigerate the remaining wire (4℃)

2. Equipment requirements

  • MIG welding machine: digital waveform control welding machine (such as Lincoln Power Wave 455) is recommended
  • Wire feeding system: dual active wheel wire feeder, pressure setting 3-5bar

Q: How to solve the problem of wire jam during wire feeding?

A: Check the matching degree between the wire diameter and the wire feeding wheel groove (recommended φ1.2mm with 1.25mm groove), clean the conductive nozzle dirt

Q: Lack of fusion in the weld

A: Increase welding current by 10-15% and adjust welding gun angle to 15-20° to ensure the molten pool covers the base material.
