Welding Rod HS221
Products Description
HS221 is a premium tin-silicon brass brazing alloy engineered to deliver industrial-grade, defect-free joints when joining dissimilar metals. This alloy is produced under a strict ISO 9001 quality control system and complies with AWS A5.8 and BS EN 14640 international standards. It is a highly regarded general-purpose copper-based brazing electrode in the global HVAC, automotive, metal processing and tooling industries.
Unlike ordinary low-cost brass brazing wire, HS221 contains precisely controlled trace amounts of tin and silicon in its composition. This unique formula significantly inhibits zinc volatilization during high-temperature heating, thereby minimizing toxic fumes and eliminating porosity, ensuring a bright and smooth weld surface with almost no need for post-weld grinding. Whether you run a small repair shop or operate a fully automated large-scale production line, the HS221 delivers reliable and consistent performance in every batch of products.

Correct Welding Guidelines
To ensure optimal performance of HS221 solder, please follow these proven operating recommendations:
- Pre-treatment: Before welding, thoroughly remove oil, rust, oxide layers, and impurities from the workpiece surface and brazing electrode.
- Preheating: Preheat the base material to 400°C – 500°C before applying the filler metal.
- Flame conditioning: When performing oxyacetylene brazing, a neutral flame or a slightly oxidizing flame should be used, and overheating should be avoided.
- Flux Recommendation: For copper alloy, steel and cast iron workpieces, please use a suitable copper brazing flux to improve wetting performance.
- Rapid operation: The brazing process is completed quickly and in the shortest possible time to reduce zinc volatilization and prevent excessive oxidation.
- Post-weld Treatment: After welding, remove residual flux and slag using hot water to prevent surface corrosion.
