Products Description
ERTi-2 (Grade 2)is the most widely used titanium alloy in its product forms.It has similar characteristics as grade 1 but is slightly stronger.Grade 2 offering an excellent balance of moderate strength and reasonable ductility. Highly corrosion resistant to highly oxidizing environments, including chlorides. Grade 2 has very good weldability.
Product characteristics
Corrosion resistance: anti-corrosion in seawater, chemical solutions, redox environments (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, chloride ion media).
Lightweight and strength: density 4.5 g/cm³ (only 60% of steel), tensile strength 500 MPa, suitable for high-strength lightweight structures.
Processing flexibility: supports traditional welding (TIG/MIG), additive manufacturing (WAM®, ARCEMY®), hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and other processes to reduce material waste.
Non-magnetic: suitable for sensitive scenarios such as medical equipment and electronics industry.

Cleaning requirements:
Before welding or processing, the surface grease, oxide layer and contaminants must be thoroughly removed, and wiped with acetone or isopropyl alcohol to avoid hydrogen embrittlement or welding defects.
It is forbidden to use chlorine-containing solvents (such as trichloroethylene) to prevent stress corrosion caused by residual chloride ions.
Storage conditions:
Store in a dry, dust-free environment (humidity ≤ 40%) to prevent hydrogen absorption or oxidation.
The shelf life of the sealed package is 12 months before opening. After opening, it must be used within 3 days or re-vacuum sealed.
FAQ
Q: :How is the corrosion resistance of ERTi-2?
A: It performs well in seawater, weak acid, and chloride ion environments, but needs to avoid high concentrations of hydrofluoric acid and high temperature strong alkali.
Q: Can it be used in direct contact with stainless steel or carbon steel?
A: Avoid direct contact in humid or salt spray environments. It is recommended to use insulating gaskets (such as PTFE) to prevent electrochemical corrosion.
Q: Does oxidative discoloration (blue/purple) on the surface of the material affect performance?
A: Light oxidation layers (<25 μm) can be removed by pickling, but severe oxidation may cause brittleness and require reprocessing or scrapping.
