elding wire usually uses direct current positive polarity (DC+) during welding for the following reasons:
- Increase penetration depth: When DC+ welding, the weldment is connected to the positive electrode and the welding wire is connected to the negative electrode. The workpiece obtains higher heat, thereby increasing the penetration depth and ensuring a good fusion effect. This enables the weld joint to penetrate the material better, improving the welding strength and stability.
- Stable arc: DC+ helps to form a stable arc and reduce arc fluctuations during welding. A stable arc can ensure the continuity and consistency of the welding process, improve welding quality, and reduce the occurrence of welding defects.
- Extend equipment life: A stable arc and lower wire loss help reduce the loss of welding equipment and extend the service life of the equipment. For enterprises, this can reduce the cost of equipment maintenance and replacement and improve production efficiency.

Welding Requirements
- Welding material selection: Choose welding wire that matches the composition and performance of the base material to ensure that the weld metal has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
- Surface cleaning: Before welding, the oil, rust, moisture and other impurities on the surface of the welding wire and the base material should be thoroughly removed to prevent pores and cracks during welding. When cleaning, the groove surface and the surrounding area should be polished to a metallic luster.
- Shielding gas: When MIG welding, it is recommended to use Ar+2%O₂ as the shielding gas, and the flow rate should be 20-25L/min; when TIG welding, it is recommended to use pure argon protection, the purity should be above 99.99%, and the flow rate should be 8-15L/min.
- Welding parameters: According to the welding method and the thickness of the base material, reasonably select parameters such as welding current, voltage and wire feeding speed. Avoid excessive welding current and voltage to prevent overheating and burning of the weld metal.
- Welding method: It is recommended to use welding methods such as TIG, MIG or SAW to ensure the quality of the weld.
- Preheating and interpass temperature: Usually no preheating is required, but the interpass temperature should be controlled below 150°C to avoid excessive temperature affecting the performance of the weld metal.
