Product Overview

AWS E308L-16 is an ultra-low carbon titanium calcium stainless steel electrode, specially designed for welding 022Cr-19Ni10 (304L) stainless steel. Its carbon content is ≤0.04%, which effectively prevents intergranular corrosion during welding and is particularly suitable for environments with high corrosion resistance requirements. This electrode can be used for both AC and DC, with stable arc, small spatter, easy slag removal, and can be used for all-position welding. It is an ideal choice for stainless steel structure welding in the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries.

1. Excellent corrosion resistance
Ultra-low carbon design: carbon content ≤ 0.04%, effectively reducing the risk of intergranular corrosion, especially suitable for use at sensitization temperature
High-quality alloy composition: balanced ratio of 18-21% chromium and 9-11% nickel, ensuring corrosion resistance matching 304L stainless steel base material
Excellent crack resistance: adding appropriate amount of silicon and manganese elements to improve the resistance of weld metal to hot and cold cracking

Preparation before welding
1. Drying of welding rod: Dry at 250-300℃ for 30-60 minutes before use, and put it in 80-100℃ insulation cylinder for standby
2. Workpiece cleaning: Thoroughly remove oil, rust, scale and other impurities in the welding area. Stainless steel wire brush or special cleaning agent can be used
3. Joint design: Select the appropriate groove form according to the plate thickness. The recommended V-groove angle is 60-70°, the blunt edge is 1-2mm, and the gap is 2-3mm
Operation precautions
1. Power supply selection: AC and DC dual-use, it is recommended to use DC reverse connection (DC+) to obtain better penetration
2. Arc control: Use short arc welding, the arc length is 1-3mm, and avoid burning of alloy elements due to excessive length
3. Welding speed: Maintain a moderate welding speed to avoid too fast to cause unfusion or too slow to cause overheating
4. Interlayer temperature: When welding multiple layers, the interlayer temperature should be controlled below 150℃ to prevent coarse grains
5. Protective measures: When the wind speed is greater than 1.5m/s, windproof measures should be taken to avoid the formation of pores
Post-weld treatment
1. It is recommended to perform post-weld heat treatment on important structures to eliminate welding stress
2. For occasions with high corrosion resistance requirements, pickling and passivation treatment can be performed after welding
3. After welding, the welding slag and spatter should be thoroughly cleaned and the appearance quality of the weld should be checked
