Flux Core Welding

E304LT0-3 is a self-shielded stainless steel flux-cored welding wire conforming to AWS A5.22 standards, specifically designed for welding austenitic stainless steels such as 304, 304L, 309, and 316. It requires no external shielding gas; the molten pool is protected by the slag and gas generated by the flux core in the arc, making it suitable for outdoor, high-altitude, and poorly ventilated applications.

• Self-protection: The flux core contains gas-generating and slag-forming agents, eliminating the need for external gases such as CO₂ or Ar during welding.
• All-position welding: Can be performed in horizontal, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Applicable base materials: Primarily used for 304/304L stainless steel, but also suitable for similar materials such as 309 and 316.
• Wind resistance: Compared to gas-shielded welding, it maintains weld quality even at higher wind speeds.
• Convenience: Eliminates the need for gas cylinders and supply systems, facilitating on-site and mobile operations.

• The low-temperature toughness and plasticity of the weld are generally lower than those of gas-shielded flux-cored wire.
• Welding fumes are abundant; ensure good ventilation in the work area.
• High requirements are placed on the flux core formulation and manufacturing process; otherwise, defects such as porosity and slag inclusions are prone to occur.
