Polarity requirements of welding power supply

During the welding process, it is recommended to use DC positive connection (DC+) for E310T1-1 Stainless Steel Flux Core Wire, that is, the wire is connected to the positive pole of the welding power supply and the workpiece is connected to the negative pole.

◆This polarity setting can fully utilize the performance advantages of the welding wire for the following reasons:
1.Arc Stability
When direct current is connected, the welding wire serves as the anode, and the arc energy is more concentrated, which can provide a more stable arc, reduce spatter, and make the welding process more stable.

2. Droplet transition
When DC positive connection is used, the droplet transition is more uniform, which helps to form a beautiful and high-quality weld.

3. welding efficiency
Direct current connection can support higher welding current, thereby improving welding efficiency while maintaining good weld formation.

4. Shielding gas matching
E310T1-1 Welding Wire for Stainless Steel usually uses CO₂ or argon-rich mixed gas as the shielding gas. This gas protection method works well with the welding parameters of DC positive connection and can further optimize the welding performance.

Note: Please ensure that the welding power source is set to direct current connection (DC+) to obtain the best welding effect.

How to TIG Weld with E310T1-1Stainless Steel Flux Core Wire

1. Welding power polarity selection
In TIG welding, the power polarity has a significant impact on the welding effect. For stainless steel materials, direct current positive polarity (DCEN) is usually used, that is, the weldment is connected to the positive pole of the power supply and the tungsten electrode is connected to the negative pole.

The advantages of this connection method include:

  • The arc is more concentrated and the heat input is more stable.
  • The tungsten electrode has good cooling effect and longer life.
  • The weld formation is more beautiful and the penetration depth is more uniform.

2. Welding parameter setting
Welding current: Select the appropriate current according to the thickness of the weldment and the welding position. The current range is generally recommended to be 100-250A.
Arc voltage: Usually set between 10-20V, and the specific voltage needs to be adjusted according to the welding current and weldment material.
Welding speed: Maintain a moderate welding speed, usually 20-60cm/min, to ensure weld quality and penetration depth.

3. Shielding gas
Gas type: High-purity argon (99.99% purity) is recommended as a shielding gas.
Gas flow rate: usually set at 10-20L/min, the specific flow rate needs to be adjusted according to the welding environment and weldment shape.

4. Tungsten electrode selection and preparation
Tungsten electrode material: Ceriated Tungsten is recommended because it has better arc starting performance and stability.
Tungsten electrode tip shape: For stainless steel welding, the tungsten electrode tip should be ground into a cone with a cone angle of about 30-45°.

5. Welding operation
Arc length: Maintain a stable arc length, usually 2-5mm.
Filling wire: If a filler wire is required, a stainless steel wire with a composition similar to that of the base material should be selected.
Welding position: TIG welding is suitable for a variety of welding positions, including flat welding, vertical welding and overhead welding.

How to MIG Weld with E310T1-1 Flux Core Wire

MIG welding (metal inert gas shielded welding) is an efficient and stable welding method suitable for joining a variety of metal materials, including stainless steel.

1. Welding equipment and material preparation
Welding power supply: Select an inverter welding power supply suitable for MIG welding, and ensure that it has stable current and voltage output.
Wire selection:E310T1-1 Flux Core Wire is suitable for high temperature environments and corrosion-resistant applications. Ensure that the wire diameter matches the welding current.
Shielding gas: Argon (Ar) or a mixture of argon and a small amount of oxygen (such as Ar+2%O₂) is usually used to protect the welding pool.
Welding gun and wire feeding system: Make sure that the welding gun nozzle and conductive nozzle are clean and free of wear, and the wire feeding system runs smoothly.

2. Welding parameter setting
Current and voltage: Adjust the current and voltage according to the wire diameter and welding position. The recommended current range is 150-250A and the voltage is 18-25V.
Welding speed: Maintain a moderate welding speed (about 30-60cm/min) to avoid too fast or too slow.
Shielding gas flow: The gas flow rate is controlled at 15-25L/min to ensure that the welding area is fully protected.

3. Welding operation steps
Cleaning the weldment: Thoroughly clean the surface of the weldment before welding to remove impurities such as oil, scale, etc.
Arc ignition: Aim the nozzle of the welding gun at the starting point of welding and ignite the arc. Maintain a stable arc length (about 1.5-2 times the diameter of the welding wire).
Welding process:

  • Maintain the angle between the welding gun and the weldment (about 15°-30°) to ensure that the welding pool is clearly visible.
  • Move the welding gun evenly to avoid overheating or unfused welds.
  • If you need to fill the welding wire, ensure that the welding wire is fully fused with the molten pool.

Arc extinguishing: At the end of welding, gradually reduce the current or use the arc crater filling function to avoid arc crater defects.
