AWS E8015-C1 is a low-temperature steel electrode with iron powder low hydrogen potassium coating, suitable for AC and DC all-position welding. The deposited metal still has excellent impact toughness at -60℃, and is particularly suitable for welding low-alloy steel structures working in low temperature environments, such as 13MnSi6, 09MnNiNb, E36 and other steels.

Welding process

Preparation before welding

1. Drying of welding rod: bake at 350℃ for 1 hour, use immediately after baking
2. Cleaning of base material: remove rust, oil, water and other impurities
3. Preheating requirements: preheat at 80-150℃ according to the thickness of the plate

Welding parameters

  1. Use short arc operation and narrow pass welding
  2. Interlayer temperature is controlled below 200℃
  3. After welding, 600-650℃ tempering treatment can be performed to eliminate stress

Precautions

  1. Reverse DC connection (welding rod connected to positive pole)
  2. Avoid welding in an environment with wind speed exceeding 8m/s, and take windproof measures if necessary
  3. The cooling speed after welding should not be too fast to prevent cold cracks

A: The welding rod should be stored in a dry and ventilated environment with relative humidity ≤60% and temperature ≥5℃. The unused welding rod should be resealed after opening, and it needs to be re-dried if it is not used for more than 4 hours, but the number of repeated drying should not exceed 2 times.
