Products Description
If you need a stainless steel wire that performs well in high-temperature environments, this ER310 stainless steel MIG wire is perfect.
It's particularly well-suited for welding equipment frequently exposed to high temperatures, such as industrial furnaces and heat exchangers. It produces strong joints even at temperatures reaching 2100°F (approximately 1150°C).
It's also highly corrosion-resistant, making it durable and resilient in environments prone to rust and chemical damage.
Welding is also smooth, with a stable arc and smooth wire feed, resulting in clean, strong welds. It's easy to use for both experienced and experienced welders.
Manufactured to strict industry standards, this wire is quality-assured and can be used with confidence in a variety of high-temperature welding applications, such as chemical equipment manufacturing.
Where Performance Matters Most
Furnace Manufacturing
In industrial furnace construction, where continuous exposure toextreme heat is common, ER310 wire creates welds that maintainintegrity at temperatures exceeding 2000°F.
Heat Exchangers
When connecting components in heat exchangers, ER310 deliverssuperior resistance to oxidation and scaling, ensuring long-termperformance in thermal cycling environments.
Chemical Processing
In chemical plants handling corrosive materials at elevatedtemperatures, ER310 welds provide the perfect balance of heatresistance and corrosion protection.
Chemical Composition
| Element | Composition Range (%) | Primary Function |
|---|---|---|
| Cr | 24.0 - 26.0 | Enhances high-temperature oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance |
| Ni | 19.0 - 22.0 | Improves high-temperature strength and welding stability |
| C | Max 0.08 | Controls weld brittleness and ensures joint toughness |
| Mn | Max 2.0 | Improves arc stability and weld pool fluidity |
| Si | Max 1.0 | Aids in deoxidation and reduces weld porosity |
| Fe | Bal | Serves as the base metal to ensure structural strength |
how to use
When using ER310 stainless steel MIG wire, follow these steps for smoother operation and guaranteed welding results:
1. Preparation
First, clean the stainless steel surface to be welded (e.g., 310 stainless steel parts) to remove rust, oil, or paint, which can cause pores. After opening, store the wire in a dry place away from water and dust.
2. Select the Right Equipment Parameters
Adjust the welding machine according to the wire thickness:
- For 0.030-inch wire, the current is generally 70-150A and the voltage is 18-24V.
- For 0.035- or 0.045-inch wire, the current can be increased appropriately (consult the welding machine manual for details).
The recommended shielding gas is "argon + 2% oxygen" or "argon + 5% carbon dioxide," with a gas flow rate of 30-50 cubic feet per hour to protect the weld from oxidation.
3. Welding Precautions
Keep the welding torch 10-15 mm away from the workpiece. Move the welding torch steadily and gently, allowing the wire to fully fuse with the workpiece. If there is spatter after welding, clean it with a slag hammer after cooling.
4. Special Notes
This welding wire is suitable for welding high-temperature environments (such as furnaces and heat exchangers). However, avoid using it for welding common materials like thin sheet metal, as it's considered overkill. Remember to wear a mask and gloves when welding for proper protection!
