ER308L WELDING WIRE

 

AWS A5.9 ER308L is a CO2 gas-shielded stainless steel flux-cored welding wire. It features a soft and stable arc, minimal spatter, aesthetically pleasing weld bead formation, easy slag removal, and excellent welding process performance, suitable for all-position welding. It is also a nuclear power TIG welding wire for ultra-low carbon stainless steel, producing an ultra-low carbon weld metal. Due to its low carbon content, it prevents carbide precipitation at grain boundaries, exhibiting excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. It is commonly used in nuclear power engineering, such as welding ultra-low carbon 00Cr19Ni10 stainless steel structural components.

1) To ensure good mechanical properties of the weld, pure gas should be used as the shielding gas.
2) Shielding gas flow rate: 9-14 L/min for 100-200A current, 14-18 L/min for 200-300A current; tungsten electrode extension length approximately 3-5mm, arc length 1-3m; wind speed limit ≤1.0m/s; argon gas shielding is recommended on the back side of the welding area.
3) During welding, the welding heat input directly affects the mechanical properties and crack resistance of the weld metal, and should be given more attention.

4) Before welding, oil, moisture, and other impurities in the welding area should be thoroughly removed.
