Product Overview

ECOCR-A is a low-hydrogen coated welding electrode specially designed for welding medium and high-pressure chrome-molybdenum steel components. It adopts a low-carbon chrome-molybdenum alloy formula and integrates the self-developed "micro-alloyed deposition technology" of Ocean Welding, enabling high-strength welding of heat-resistant steels such as 12Cr1MoV and 15CrMo.​

Its core advantages are as follows: the spatter rate during welding is less than 3%, the tensile strength of deposited metal reaches more than 550MPa, and no complicated cleaning is required after welding. It can be adapted to various welding methods such as shielded metal arc welding and submerged arc welding. Whether it is the welding of power plant boiler pipes, chemical reaction kettles, or high-pressure vessels, it can meet the welding requirements of "high strength, low loss, and long service life", and is a new generation of welding materials that take into account environmental protection requirements and industrial reliability.

1. Environmentally Friendly Formula, Meeting International Standards​

Adopting a lead-free and low-smoke formula, the emission of harmful gases during welding is 40% lower than that of traditional welding materials. It has passed SGS environmental certification, meeting the domestic "Low Volatile Organic Compound Welding Materials Standard" and EU CE certification, and is suitable for welding scenarios of food and pharmaceutical equipment with strict environmental protection requirements.​

2. Excellent Welding Strength and Stability​

Chromium and molybdenum elements in the deposited metal are evenly distributed. The tensile strength at room temperature is ≥550MPa, and the yield strength retention rate at high temperature (550℃) reaches 85%. There are no cracks or porosity defects in the welded joints. According to third-party testing, the fatigue life of welded joints is 30% higher than the industry average, making it suitable for industrial components that bear high pressure and high temperature for a long time.​

How to Use

 

 

1. Preparation Before Welding​

Clean the oil and rust on the surface of the workpiece to be welded and polish it until the metal luster is exposed;​

Preheat the workpiece according to welding requirements (the recommended preheating temperature is 250-350℃, which can be adjusted according to the thickness of the workpiece);​

Dry the welding electrodes at 350℃ for 1 hour and store them in an 80-100℃ heat preservation cylinder for later use.

3. Operation Notes​

  • Use short arc welding, keep the electrode movement speed uniform, and avoid porosity caused by too long arc;​
  • For multi-layer welding, clean the slag after each layer of welding, and the interlayer temperature should not be lower than 200℃;​
  • It is recommended to perform tempering treatment at 650-700℃ for 2 hours after welding to eliminate welding stress.

 

FAQ

Q: Is ECOCR-A welding material suitable for stainless steel welding? ​

A: ECOCR-A is a chromium-molybdenum alloy welding material, mainly suitable for chromium-molybdenum steel parent materials (such as 12Cr1MoV, 15CrMo), and is not recommended for stainless steel welding. If you need to weld stainless steel, you can contact the Ocean Welding technical team, and we will recommend the corresponding model of stainless steel special welding material. ​

Q: How to store the unused welding material after opening? ​

A: The welding material after opening must be immediately sealed and placed in a drying oven (relative humidity ≤40%), and the opening date must be marked. Before re-use, it must be dried at 250℃×1 hour, and the cumulative drying times should not exceed 3 times to avoid the coating from falling off and affecting the welding performance. ​

Q: After welding, it was found that the weld had pores. What might be the reason? ​

A: Common reasons include: the welding material was not dried as required (moisture absorption will cause pores); the oil stains on the surface of the parent material were not cleaned; the welding current was too large, causing the molten pool to overheat. The problem can be solved by "re-drying the welding material + strengthening surface cleaning + reducing the current by 10%-15%". If further analysis is required, the welding sample can be sent back to the company laboratory for testing.
