In the process of welding, the main function of the fluorite is to prevent the production of hydrogen gas hole because of the marble decomposition to produce CO2 as the protective gas.

The effect of hydrogen removal is good, and the high quality welding joint is guaranteed.

When the 7018 welding rod  is welded, there is a lot of fluorite (calcium fluoride) in the drug skin, so the arc is unstable when it is welded with alternating current, and the DC reverse electrode must be used. When the proper amount of arc stabilizer is added to the skin, alternating current AC welding  can also be used.

7018 welding rod electrode can be used for all position welding. It is suitable for welding important structures such as low carbon steel, medium carbon steel and some low alloy structural steels.
