Recently, a welding material called ERNi-1 has attracted attention in the industry. As a pure nickel welding wire containing a moderate amount of titanium, ERNi-1 belongs to product grade S901 and its chemical composition is precise and rigorous. Among the main components, the nickel content is as high as more than 93%, which provides it with good basic performance; the addition of 2.0-3.5% titanium effectively improves the stability of metallurgical reactions during welding; the aluminum content is strictly controlled within 1.5%, ensuring that the overall performance of the welding wire is not excessively disturbed. In practical application areas, ERNi-1 welding wire is everywhere. In the manufacture of chemical equipment, a large chemical enterprise uses ERNi-1 welding wire to weld pure nickel alloys NI200 and NI201 for the manufacture of large reactors with a volume of 500 cubic meters. After 5 years of actual operation monitoring, the corrosion rate at the weld is only 0.05 mm per year in harsh chemical environments such as high concentrations of acid and alkali, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
In the field of aerospace, the engine components of a certain type of aircraft use ERNi-1 welding wire to weld nickel-based alloys and stainless steel. The component has been subjected to high temperatures of up to 1000°C and pressures of 500MPa, and has undergone more than 1000 simulated flight cycle tests. The welded parts still maintain good structural integrity and mechanical properties, meeting the stringent requirements of aerospace parts for material properties.
In marine engineering, the first offshore semi-submersible oil drilling platform designed and built by China itself, Exploration No. 3, is managed by Sinopec Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. Since it was put into operation in July 1984, it has been operating in the East China Sea and other sea areas. ERNi-1 welding wire is used in the welding of its key structural parts. In the long-term strong corrosion environment of seawater, it has been tested that the corrosion rate of the welds in the past few decades is extremely low, only increasing by about 0.03 mm per year, which effectively ensures the stability of the platform in the harsh marine environment. In addition, the world's most advanced ultra-deepwater drilling platform "Blue Whale 1" was born in Yantai CIMC Raffles Marine Technology Group. During its construction, ERNi-1 welding wire was used for welding of various key parts. Faced with complex marine environment and operation requirements, the welding parts have undergone multiple high-intensity tests. Under extreme pressure and seawater corrosion, it still maintains good performance, ensuring the stable connection of 27,354 equipment, more than 40,000 pipelines and other key components on the platform.
In addition, ERNi-1 welding wire also plays a key role in the welding of nickel alloys and the surfacing of corrosion-resistant layers on steel surfaces. Especially in the working conditions of dealing with alkali metal corrosion, its weld metal shows extremely strong corrosion resistance, which can effectively resist the erosion of alkali solution and ensure the safe and stable operation of related equipment.
