E7018
It is a high-quality carbon steel electrode with iron powder and low-hydrogen potassium coating. The electrode has excellent welding process performance, good arc stiffness, not easy to produce magnetic bias, fine and clean weld shape, less spatter, and easy slag removal; weld metal has excellent and stable low-temperature toughness and crack resistance. Both AC and DC can be used for all-position welding.
70 refers to the minimum tensile strength of the weld metal (ksi), 18 refers to the position of the electrode, the type of coating, and the welding current.
Application: Suitable for welding carbon steel, low alloy steel, ship steel and pressure vessel.
Characteristic :that the coating contains iron powder, which can reduce the number of welding layers. The welding rod is baked at 350-400 degrees Celsius for 1 to 2 hours, and used as it is baked.
Welding method:Arc welding is a method in which the metal at the joint of the weldment is heated to a molten state during the welding process, and the welding is generally completed without pressure. During fusion welding, the heat source quickly melts the metal at the weld joint and the filler metal added when necessary to form a molten pool. The molten pool extends with the movement of the heat source and forms a weld after cooling.
Arc welding using electric energy is divided into arc welding, electroslag welding, electron beam welding and laser welding according to different electric heating methods. Fusion welding has a wide range of applications, and is most commonly used in various welding methods, especially arc welding.
Welding machines of E7018 welding electrodes
(1) The AC welding machine is a step-down transformer with a special structure, the no-load voltage is 6080V, the working voltage is 30V; the power is 20-30kW, the secondary line current is 50-450A; the power supply voltage is 380/220V.
(2) The DC welding machine uses a three-phase motor to drive a DC generator with a special structure; the silicon rectifier DC welding machine uses silicon rectifier components to convert alternating current into direct current; the no-load voltage of the secondary line of the welding machine is 50 -80V, working voltage is 30V, welding current is 45-320A; welding machine power is 12-30kW, power supply voltage is 380V and 220V.
(3) AC and DC welding machines should be switched on without load, and DC generator-type welding machines should be rotated in the specified direction. For those with a fan, pay attention to whether the direction of rotation of the fan is correct.
