What is stellite material ?
1. Component
Stellite is cobalt (Co) based super alloy, which has two main combinations: (a) tungsten (W) family consisting of Co cr W c. (b) Molybdenum (Mo) group containing Co-Cr-Mo-C.
2. Advantage :
Stellite alloy has excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, wear resistance, heat resistance and low magnetic permeability. Components made of stellite work well in highly corrosive environments and maintain these superior properties at high temperatures.
3. Shortcomings:
Stellite alloy with weak hardness range of 32~55 HRC, which belongs to brittle material. Due to the high hardness, high density but uneven, molecular structure and low thermal conductivity of Stellite, it is extremely difficult to be machinable

What is stellite 12 used for
Usage: used for surfacing welding of high-temperature and high-pressure valves, internal combustion engine valves, various cutting edges in chemical industry, shaft sleeves of high-pressure pumps, wood sawteeth, hot rolling pass rolls, screw push rods, etc.
