AWS ERNiCrMo-3 is a nickel-based alloy welding wire.
The welding wire which comprises of 60% Nickel and 20% Chromium, It is a weld metal with excellent resistance to high temperature corrosion and oxidation, hydrogen embrittlement and creep. The addition of molybdenum enhances its high temperature properties, such as resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
This welding wire AWS ERNiCrMo-3 is most suitable for welding different types of alloys such as nickel-base alloys, stainless steel and Ni-Cr base alloys in welding applications where the service temperature is between -196°C to 500°C. It is used in the welding of 28NiCrMoV8-5, 17CrNiMo6-4 and D6 bolts, as well as in corrosion servicers such as Cryogenic applications, heat exchangers and boilers.
This welding wire AWS ERNiCrMo-3 is available in diameters ranging from 0.8mm to 4mm. It should be used with a shielding gas such as C−29, C−19, C−25, C−37 and Ar-20%O2 mixes. The flow rate should be set according to the wire size and the welding current. Proper joint preparation, cleaning and inter-pass temperature control is required to obtain good welding results.
