The answer depends on the type of 7018 rod, the welding equipment available, and the quality requirements of the weld. In general, DC is the preferred choice for 7018 rods, but AC can be used in specific situations with limitations.
7018 rods are primarily designed for direct current (DC) welding, and this is the standard practice in most industrial and professional settings.
