What is the difference on A102 A132 A402 A302 A432 Welding electrodes

Welding electrodes are an important component in welding, and several types of electrodes are available, including E308-16, E347-16, E310-16, E309-16 Mo, and E316L-16. These electrodes are different from each other in composition and applications.

A102 /AWS E308-16 electrodes are made from austenitic stainless steel, and they are commonly used for welding low carbon or basic stainless steels. These electrodes are suitable for welding in food processing and medical industries due to their corrosion-resistant properties.

A132/AWS E347-16 electrodes, on the other hand, are made from stabilized stainless steel, containing niobium and tantalum. These electrodes are optimal for welding stainless steel that has a high-carbon content, and they are also feasible for welding dissimilar metals. Moreover, E347-16 electrodes offer excellent resistance against corrosion and high-temperature environments.

A402/AWS E310-16 electrodes comprise heat-resistant steel that contains a high percentage of nickel and chromium. These electrodes can withstand high temperatures, up to approximately 1100℃. E310-16 electrodes are suitable for welding high-temperature materials, including furnace parts, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.

A302/AWS E309-16 Mo electrodes consist of low carbon and high nickel, molybdenum stainless steel. These electrodes are optimal for welding dissimilar metals, such as carbon steel and stainless steel, due to their excellent crack-resistant and oxidation-resistant properties.

A432/AWS E316L-16 electrodes are made from low carbon stainless steel that contains molybdenum. These electrodes offer excellent resistance to corrosion and pitting, specifically for welding in seawater or chemical processing industries.

In conclusion, the above-mentioned welding electrodes have their unique properties and applications; therefore, it is essential to select the appropriate electrode based on the type of material to be welded and the environment in which it will be exposed. With proper selection, these welding electrodes can provide high-quality welded joints with excellent corrosion and heat resistance.
