Information about Brass wire

The brass rod is a rod-shaped object made of an alloy of copper and zinc, and is named for its yellow color. Brass with a copper content of 56% to 68%, brass has good mechanical properties and wear resistance, and can be used to manufacture precision instruments, ship parts, and shells of guns.

RBCuZn-A is a brass wire containing a small amount of tin. Melting point of about 900℃, molten metal has good fluidity, certain strength and corrosion; mainly used for flame, furnace, induction and other methods of copper, steel and nickel brazing, can also be used for copper, copper and nickel alloy Molten gas shielded arc welding and inert gas shielded arc welding.

RBCuZn-B is a tin brass wire containing a small amount of iron, silicon, manganese, and nickel. The melting point is about 880℃, the molten metal has good fluidity, and since it contains silicon, the evaporation of zinc can be effectively suppressed. It can be used for gas metal arc welding and inert gas shielded arc welding of copper, steel, copper-nickel alloy, gray cast iron, and inlaid carbide tools.

RBCuZn-C is a brass wire containing a small amount of iron, tin, silicon, manganese and other elements. The melting point is about 860 ° C, the fluidity is better, silicon can effectively control the evaporation of zinc, eliminate the weld porosity and obtain satisfactory mechanical properties. Brass oxygen-acetylene gas welding and carbon arc welding as a filling material. Can also be used for brazing copper, steel, copper-nickel alloy, gray cast iron and inlaid carbide tools.

RBCuZn-D is a brass wire containing about 10% nickel. Melting point of about 935 ° C, the addition of nickel increases strength and toughness,Mainly used for welding tongs steel, nickel and hard alloy.

Using Tips

1.Care must be taken to weld ares and the surface of the wire before welding .

2.Before welding, it is generally preheated to 400℃ to 500℃ after welding, oxyacetylene flame welding must be equipped with copper gas flux and copper brazing flux.

3.The welding flame should use a neutral flame or a slight oxidizing flame, appropriately reduce the temperature during welding, increase the welding speed, and minimize the residence time of the molten pool at high temperatures to reduce the evaporation and oxidation of zinc.
